What are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are made of hyaluronic acid. They are polysaccharide based substances which are used for volumetric correction of face. Hyaluronic acid is normally present in our face and is degraded by enzyme called Hyalase but these HA dermal fillers are crosslinked by different techniques to prevent degradation and increase longevity. That is why different HA fillers have varying longevity.

How much time is required for the procedure?
Dermal fillers need anywhere from 45 min to 1 hour for the procedure. First a numbing cream is applied for 20-30 minutes and then 30-45 min are required for the procedure.
Is the procedure painful?
Despite being an injectable procedure it is not painful as numbing cream is applied before the procedure and the dermal fillers that we use have anesthetic inside them making the procedure virtually painless.
What are the complications?
Dermal fillers rarely have long term complications. Most common immediate complications are bruising, swelling and redness.
